Introducing: Resurgam
Resurgam: Latin; I shall rise again
This is a piece that has been in the pipeline for a while. I initially wanted to create something evocative, heartbreaking; drawing attention to the vulnerability of marine species at the hands of human interference.
The whale shark plays such a vital part in a healthy marine ecosystem, however like many marine species, it has become endangered. But there is hope. Numbers of certain marine species, such as humpback whales, are slowly increasing.
Thus, the idea for Resurgam slowly transmuted into more of a hopeful and symbolic peace. ‘Resurgam’ or ‘I shall rise again’, for me, represents the revival of the species I hold out hope for a restored marine ecosystem, if we all take notice in to do our bit.
Limited edition giclée prints
I am happy to announce that, for the first time ever, I will be releasing 10 limited edition canvas prints of ‘Resurgam’, alongside the 50 prints on fine art paper.
Canvas prints come on high quality hahnemuhle fine art canvas, sprayed with a protective coat of matt varnish. Stretcher bars are 40mm deep and are framed with a black tray frame. All limited edition prints come with a certificate of authenticity.
