Sophie Green’s Releases ‘Commodities’ Collection

Contemporary artist, Sophie Green, has released her latest collection of work, Commodities. The collection shines a light on the commodification of the natural world and explores themes of exploitation and consumerism.

Sophie Green’s ‘Temperance’

The ‘Commodities’ collection includes wild animals such as a chimpanzee, polar bear, snow leopard, tiger and Asian elephant, perched miserably on pedestals, much like exhibits in a museum.

The subjects ooze disdain, misery, apathy, and even anger. Green highlights the loss of dignity of some of the world’s most beautiful species and sets the pieces to a clinical, white backdrop.

The collection is being exhibited at The Vaults, London as part of The Saddest Show on Earth exhibition from 18-30 March 2025 and moving to The Royal Society of Arts in London from 1 April - 31 May 2025.
