Inferno is part of Green’s ‘Commodities’ collection. Based off a photo that she took on the Arctic pack ice in 2021, the painting depicts a folorn polar bear, sat atop a plinth in stark contrast to its natural environment. The name ‘Inferno’ is influenced heavily by Dante’s Divine Comedy, which Green was influenced by when painting the collection.
